Being a Christian is tricky.
Sin sneaks up and there you are doing the wrong thing. It is tough to catch those sneaky sins.
One former atheist on a t.v. show,
once said how sneaky sin is when
she stated, "I caught myself looking down on people who looked down on people!"

Winston Churchill once said, "Democracy is one of the worst systems of government in the world but the others are so much worse."
In regards to loud-mouthed and stupid people, "Granny Clampett" once said, "Empty Cans Make More Noise!"
Unknown, "When you point your finger at someone, there is one finger pointing at them and three pointing back at you."

I consider the NCLB act by George W. Bush, to be a signal to the lazy teachers of this country to get to work. I have seen some of the most useless people leave the profession because they were suddenly made to work.
Lazy teachers are also popular with students because kids like free periods and free grades. What is worse is that these teachers use their popularity to play up to the students and parents and critize and spread gossip about the teachers that make kids work hard. Unfortunately parents decide who are the best teachers according to teacher poplularity. You see how this turns out right?
Now, with NCLB, all teachers are held accountable which quickly weeded out the driftwood. They never expected to work just like everyone else.
Pricipals? Please! Most principles that I had were lazy and unprincipled. They were afraid of the popular teachers and often went along with whatever they said. Now principals have rules and goals that lazy teachers cannot avoid. So yes, NCLB is a solid reform. I just want to see it made more demanding. To be clear, most teachers are dedicated and work terribly hard. Most put in 12 hour days most of the week. They spend an average of $1000.oo of their own money to buy supplies for children. Their decication cannot be praised too much. They are saints.
The lazy teachers? There is a special place in **Hell** for those hateful people!
There is no learning without work and aggravation. There is no magic to avoid work. Education is tough and relentless or it won't acheive its goal. Today's job market is demandng and cruel. Those without preparation will face a fate that is awful.

Hey Teenager. Your mom knows a lot about boys since she was there once. Boys can be nice and boys can be treacherous. I know I was one. Not that I ever tried to pull a trick on a girl, oh no, I was a gentlemen all the time. Look out for lightening. The worst is that many boys will tell the most intimate things about ....you know to their friends and Facebook. A girl's reputation is always vunerable that is why your enemies always go after it! Anything that you do will be blabbed and some added to it. Ask mom about this and ask other young women about it. They may be able to tell you how bad it can get if you date too young. I would say that 16 is about the youngest you should start. I know things have changed but not really people. Oh yeah there is all the fun of STD's and pregnancies. Those babies cry an awful lot.

Winston Churchill said this in World War Two to praise the Royal Air Force that stopped Hitler's grab for air power over Britian's skies. Yet, I have heard that someone else said it earlier. I cannot be sure, but I believe a Greek said it in praise of King Leonidas at Thermoply. Guessing.

A clear open yerd will do it. Snakes do not like being seen. Keep mice and such away, they draw snakes. The old timers in the south used to keep every sprig of grass hoed away so as to see the snakes. Avoid thick bushes and all that. It draws mice and then snakes. Also watch about lots of frogs and toads in the yard because snakes like them too.

Teenagers are so aggravating because they are trying to break away. By the time they leave you are relieved. However, you do not deserve to be treated badly. Don't put up with abuse, you are a hero mom who struggled to raised them by yourself. I commend you as a hero along with single daddy. Like the heroes of wars you have earned their respect and they better damn well give it to you. You may have to ask them to leave, if it comes to that. Our lives are short and they don't have the right to suck all the happiness out of you. Cuss words and yelling are not okay. Violence needs a police arrest. Don't take it. Explain quietly and firmly what your demands are, not requests but demands. If they cannot accept them, explain to them that you understand and that maybe it is time to move on. They might do it or they may begin to weigh the consequences of their actions. There's a first, right! Just don't bluff, mean what you say before saying it and then stick to it.
Good luck and I salute you! Professor, single daddy Professor
