I am a Christian and I have met Christians who have offended me. Is it the way it is said or what is said, or both? How have you been hurt or offended by a Christian and why do you think you were offended? Do you put all Christians into the same bag, or do you think there are good and bad, like any other group of people? What could a Christian do to improve your experience with them? What helpful advice would you give to all Christians?

There so many people who say they are Christians but don't live it. I try, and when I slip up, I ask GOD for forgiveness, then If possible I try to ask the person I offended to forgive me or say I'm sorry.
But if you see someone going the wrong way you try to stop them the best you can.
If you don't then your FATH is weak. love, Randy

@Mindblade 16, I appreciate your honesty and without really bashing another group. There is a commonality out there, of putting all Christians into one big grab bag. There are many good Christians and people of other faiths along with the bad ones. Thanks and thumbs up to you.

I'll admit that I do put all Christians in the same bag. But they have a habit of doing the same with every other religion. Everything else is the devil's work isn't it. Yours is the only true religion, isn't it?? I'd be happy if christians would acknowledge that there are other paths of truths besides theirs. It takes many colors to make a rainbow. But the problem doesn't lie with the christians themselves, the problem lies in their teachings. Another problem is that there is so much good in those teachings that the bad things are just accepted as truth with the rest of it. I can also accept that christians believe thier way to be true, just as I have faith in mine. But the difference is, I don't consider mine to be the only one. Each person has thier own path, and that truth is subjective, and belongs to the individual. Many people can also share in that truth, and I acknowledge that as well.
I'm still angry about what your people did to mine, but we are coming back. We won't let the old ways be lost.

There are many groups that take on the banner of Christian, it doesn't mean they are.
I am confussed are you wiccan? Really I am not being a smart ass. I think I missed something. What Christians did to your ppl??? I dont understand.
Ok, if that link wasn't enough then how about this. I am a neo-pagan. Hundreds of years ago Paganism was nearly wiped out with the onslaught of christianity over the lands. Our people were either killed or converted by christian warriors and missionaries. Neo-Paganism is a revival of those ways trampled and uprooted by christians. Many have been persecuted, and in many cases burned alive. We used to be outlaws, hunted by the church, but not anymore. The laws have changed, but we are still pushed by ridicule and exile by your good people of god. We are coming back, and spreading fast.
Mindblade We do not really understand where you are coming from!
Can you be more specific please?
Some of the the vilest acts in history have been committed by who claimed to be followers of the meek and gentle Christ.
OK I just picked up on another of your comments.
Jesus said; I am the way the truth and the light, no man comes to the father except through me.
Every one who sincerely believes himself to be a follower of Christ takes that as mandatory. I meet loads of nice people who believe differently. But at the end of the days who is the one with authority to resurrect the dead to everlasting life? Who else has paid a ransom and acts as high priest to mediate between us and the Father the source of life? This in not a rhetorical question. Feel free to answer.
A lot of the idea behind the question is constructive criticism, maybe some Christians can learn how not to hurt or offend other people, I appreciate any helpful insight you may have. Please don't put all Christians into the same group though, there are good and bad when it comes to every group of people in the world. Thanks for your honesty it is appreciated.

I hear you all right leeroy but we are moving rapidly into a judgment period but the vast are reaching the climax of the last days and their are millions directly in the path of the great tribulation. As the scripture says they are taking no notice.
How does this read in your ASV
(Jeremiah 10:10) 10 But Jehovah is in truth God. He is the living God and the King to time indefinite. Because of his indignation the earth will rock, and no nations will hold up under his denunciation. . .
A proverb says: The taking of offense is in the bosom of the stupid one.
Now a custard Christian might say: How dare you call me stupid?
Whats a custard Christian? Someone who makes issues over trifles.
If we get offended by a passage of scripture that someone quoted, Who are we really getting offended with? Jesus continuously used illustrations. I am sure you have read this one:
(Luke 10:29-37) . . .But, wanting to prove himself righteous, the man said to Jesus: “Who really is my neighbor?” 30 In reply Jesus said: “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jer?i?cho and fell among robbers, who both stripped him and inflicted blows, and went off, leaving him half-dead. 31 Now, by coincidence, a certain priest was going down over that road, but, when he saw him, he went by on the opposite side. 32 Likewise, a Levite also, when he got down to the place and saw him, went by on the opposite side. 33 But a certain Sa?mar?i?tan traveling the road came upon him and, at seeing him, he was moved with pity. 34 So he approached him and bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine upon them. Then he mounted him upon his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And the next day he took out two de?nar?i?i, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him, and whatever you spend besides this, I will repay you when I come back here.’ 36 Who of these three seems to you to have made himself neighbor to the man that fell among the robbers?” 37 He said: “The one that acted mercifully toward him.” Jesus then said to him: “Go your way and be doing the same yourself.”
Jesus was talking here to a proud Jew in the knowledge that Jews and Samaritans can not stand each other. Instead of telling the man he was a self righteous bigot he made him swallow down his pride and accept that he needed correction. Can you understand why Jesus was called "The great teacher."

Thank you mindblade
Neopagansizm Hmm1
I tried to Google this and I got a weird combination of druidism witch craft and Herbert W Armstrong successor David C Pack, with range of Nontrinitarian sects that I have never heard of adding to the increased confusion.
Would you like to enlighten us further and let us know your stand.
Kind regards

The only thing that irritates me is when I use terms some Christians don't feel are appropriate. I understand we all need to respect each other but I've honestly had someone call me out in front of a group of people for saying "Oh my god". It's more embarrassing for the person scolding me than it is for me. If I hear someone preaching about God I don't say a word because everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but please don't scold me like a child for saying something that I highly doubt will have any effect on our lives.

"Oh my god" is a cry to GOD and thats a good thing. It kinda get me when non believers do that, but I wouldn't scold them. My wife has a friend that said 'Jesus Christ" and she ask why do you say that when you don't believe in him. So she changed to "Oh my god". Love, Randy

Being a Christian is tricky.
Sin sneaks up and there you are doing the wrong thing. It is tough to catch those sneaky sins.
One former atheist on a t.v. show,
once said how sneaky sin is when
she stated, "I caught myself looking down on people who looked down on people!"

I agree t.u. Darci, it seems like many people think that Christians should be better or they expect more out of them. Then once a christian screws up everyone points a finger and says,"See, look at that stupid religious person." No Christian should think they are better than anyone else, we are just as messed up as the rest of us, sometimes even worse.
I am not trying to be better than anyone else, I am trying to become a better me.
