I teach college, and you would be alarmed at the number of students who can't use proper grammar or spell words. The texting generation has a vocabulary all their own as well which frequently ends up in their formal writing. I think the most egregious item of late was the student who wrote that she had "tooken" Exam 1 but couldn't get the next chapter to open online. So sad, but so true . . .
Anyone with a brain . . .
As long as we have porous borders and dirty public officials who won't enforce the laws we have on the books, there will always be those who are willing to smuggle drugs into the country for money. If the drug buyers only stopped to realize that they are lining the pockets of those who want to destroy our way of life, maybe they would stop buying from foreigner sources and buy from California. They are broke and need the money . . .
Not married to one, but I work with one. Makes for a very UN-comfortable work environment! Everything is me, mE, ME! However, I have found that those that toot their own horn loudest are usually incredibly insecure.
Unfortunately, as throughout other periods in history, it is currently NOT fashionable to believe in something bigger than yourself.
Weak people treat "mistakes" as one word. Strong people treat it as two. A "miss take" is the try that comes before "take two" or three or four . . .! Most people have to fail at least once to learn how to succeed.
No, calling yourself a Christian makes you no more Christian (or credible) than standing in your garage makes you a car. It's putting your words into action and backing up your claim that makes you credible.
Not to be a pessimist but there is usually a really good reason why an "EX" is an "EX". :-))
