try the irish Lottery , im sure they do a lottery for getting a green card...it may take some time though,but its all about having enough money, to cover your stay, money to survive as long as you can and about 3000 dollars as a down payment...it may have changed...you can.have somone who will sponsor you, this means of course that they will foot the billl....proof of knowing the person, there are no assurances though....write to companies that will support and sponsour you......if you have skills that someone needs...its a lot of red tape....you can go on a 3 month visitors visa and this may give you time to find something......and you can also ask if your holiday can be extended but have to have a good explanation. i was lucky in the uk that i was working for a company that also worked in America.....so even try and find a company that is in your area but also may be able to transfer you to the states.....its a lot of work but if you are determind im sure you will make it....and getting married to an american is no guarantee that you would be allowed to stay there....i hope this has helped a little......and hasnt scared you off the thought of emmigrating to America.
