If something is controversial, it means that it divides opinion quite sharply ie abortion is a controversial subject.  A controversy is an event that causes this divide in opinion ie someone getting an abortion could be a controversy once others are aware of it.

I am a singer because I practice and take the time to learn my songs well.  I don't need an audience to practice, and I sing because I love to, and not for the recognition it gets me.  Practice some tunes you like within your vocal range ( notes you can hit), and do it without the negative feedback.  If you know someone who is a good singer, ask them if they can maybe listen to your work, and give you some constructive criticism.Join choir or glee club at school.  Watch shows like the Voice and X Factor so you can see the difference between bad, good and WOW!!!  Open your mouth more when going for the high notes, and don't look at the sky.  Record yourself and hear yourself.  See what you would change, and use a bit of trial and error to do so.  And please sing you instead of YOW-  I hate when singers do that unless it is a rock song.  If you want to be better, you must be persistent and you will be if you truly love it.  Don't be afraid to strain your voice a little but rest it when it is strained.  In the meantime, as long as you are singing, you ARE a singer.  Good luck and God bless.

We have universal health care in Canada but what the government won't tell you is that it universally sucks.  People are dying in this country because their cancer meds are not being funded, and for many procedures the waiting lists are excessively long and the only alternative is to travel out of Canada to get the job done.  I have to pay for my eye exams and glasses(eye exams used to be covered every 2 years), but a transexual gets his sexchange operation paid for by the taxpayer.  Heroin junkies get their needles for free, but diabetics must pay for them out of their own pocket.  Cutbacks to services are being made all the time as we artificially grow our population through immigration and expenses continue to mount.  I am not rich and I have no benefits other than OHIP(Ontario health insurance) but if I was and could afford a better standard of care I would. Canada is a country that panders to every special interest group (immigrants, homosexuals, and natives) while systematically alienating everyone else.  And if you don't think that Obama has a similar version for your once great country, then you are naiive.  Governments will not change as long as the people are dependent on them to pay their bills, their welfare, their disability pension, their old age pension, their child supplement (aka baby bonus),and their healthcare.  People complain to me all the time about the government but change will never happen unless people take responsibility for their own lives.
