We have a style II in our 2010 RV. It will not hold water. It is clean and nothing visibly flawed with the rubber seal or waste ball. Tried lubricating with vaseline, but still leaks. Any suggestions?

We detected a sewer gas in the basement, I checked a drain with gooseneck for draining of the condensation from the furnace and discharge water from the water softener and the gooseneck was dry. Would something be syphoning the water from this, such as a toilet flush?
