no. alcoholism is a disease, recognized as such beginnining with the publication of the DSM 3,which contains the definative definition.if one must ask aquestion like what stops alcohol cravings, then it is more likelley than not that either the person askng the question for themselves almost definitely has a problem with nthe disease, or the one for whom they are askig for has the life or death addiction. the only drug you can die while detoxing/cominfg off of cold turkey- from isthe drug called alcohol.beware of the legal drug, for it will , if youre one of te blessed ones, kill you .. most dont get off the hook that easy and end up in and out of institutions[jail psych wards] destroying those who love them the most for life and or killing innocent victims on theroad while driving under the influence.we who are somewhat saturated in alcohol NEVER die in the car crash b/c we are limber, dont tense up with fright and roll while our bodies are relaxed with the momentum of the vehicle .alcohol has killed and will continue to kll more than the nastiest sounding street drug ever to come into vogue.
