social security.gov it is possible that the income is claimed when they file their taxes as self employment. when you are on ssdi you can earn some money. just a thought.
if you want to be selfemployed before you start be sure to check with your states requirements. Some states tax differently than the FEd. IE WA state taxes businesses on their gross sales not the net. and you also have to check into licensing and salesl tax permit and such. I have worked in 2 different states and the rules vary. The best business is something you believe in and something that you have a talent in.

you have to be careful of melatonin. If you have fibromyalgia you are not to take it. I usually listen to a relaxation cd, keep my bedroom cooler than the rest of the house, and if I cant fall asleep with in 30-45 min i get up for a little while and do something repetitive or boring. Some times I take St Johns wort but use caution because it is a drug just a natural one. You can overdose on some herbs too.
depression is different for everyone. 1st is there a reason for your depression... ie ill, family problems, etc. The need to rule out clinical depression is important and only a doctor can do it. I think many people want an easy fix so they turn to meds before they try other things first. 2nd if not I have found keeping in contact with others helps alot.. I am house bound because I have MCS. multiple chemical sensitivities. and vocal cord dysfunction. Someone mentioned starting a hobby but I have to be careful of that smells really get to me. 3rd for sleep I use relaxation cd's at night, take melatonin or st john's wort. (use with care even though they are herbs they are drugs) Keeping my room cooler than the rest of the house helps too. 4th exercise is good too. but becareful not to do it right before you try to go to sleep. 5th nutrition is crucial. besure you are eating properly.
