The term " Freehold " is used when you buy a plot of ground from someone else and register your ownership with the land registry. , Then you become the" Freehold " owner in perpetuity and not the leasehold owner for X amount of years .

There are VERY VERY FEW , But Some Holiday Parks or residential Parks have freehold plots for which you are NOT ( R ) NOT required to pay a Site fee / pitch Fee / ground rent or Management fee because you are the sole owner . Sited on these plots there may be a residential Caravan or Wooden ( PINE ) lodge ! Some of These lodges are of far better construction than some council houses or even private houses but yet are deemed to be NON - Mortgageable as they are classed as NON Standard Construction and work out more affordable than your standard Wimpey or Barat homes ?
This is a ludicrous situation as most standard homes are timber built but include a minimum found for which to sit your brickwork on . In the case of the Pine lodge , these generally sit concrete blocks on top of a concrete base which is probably more substantial than your standard home found ? So who perpetuates the Convenient lie " Un - Mortgageable " ?
