IS A HALF TRUTH A LIE?
Over and over again John 3:16 is quoted as the way to have eternal life; “…that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” In the very same context, John 3:5, Jesus mentions the necessity of being born of water (baptism) before he mentions the need of belief yet most of the religious world fails to quote the baptism verse. Why?

Not baptism. We need to be born of water, from the mother's womb, or born physically, and then reborn spiritually. Because we were originally spirit, turned away from God, and flushed to this earth to be restored.

Where is your evidence that when Jesus refers to being born of water it is the mother's womb that he is talking about? I have much evidence that it is baptism.
I see your point, Freedom. You may be right. John 3:16 only requires "whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life" to qualify for eternal life. No need baptism. The unilateral contract is valid.
