    how can I get a PDF file copied to my Word Document?

    Exactly how are you trying put the PDF into the Word document?
    What works (or should work): Either copy from the PDF and paste into Word, or use the Insert > Object dialog (which will show at most one page of the PDF, because objects can't cross a page boundary).
    What won't work: Trying to use Insert > File and choosing the PDF file. Word doesn't have any converter capable of doing that. There are third-party converters (including free ones you can download, and web-page-based ones) that can read a PDF and return a Word document; they're basically OCR programs.
