Here's something that worked for me: Start boiling a big pot of water on the stove. Pour a couple of tablespoons of baking soda down the drain, and follow with a quarter cup of vinegar. It'll start really bubbling up. Then repeat. After that, pour some boiling water in, and see if the water is draining yet. If it's not, then keep working on it with the baking soda and vinegar, followed with boiling water. This is a cheap drain cleaner, but it can be effective. And when you do get it clear, make sure that no animal fat goes down the drain, because that really clogs it; I pour my hamburger grease directly into the garbage can.
