maybe the better question is: "what do you do that annoys your parents.." Remember this, if it weren't for your parents you wouldn't be here.. You should thank them everyday and remember also they have been here longer than you and they have earned the right to annoy you, its called 'upbringing'. Someday when you are old enough you will understand this and thank them for annoying you but it'll be too late then because they will both be gone from this life..

if they lucky they will have them for a good long time. cherish them while you have them.
Yes! My two most cherished friends were my parents, I am sure i drove them nuts as well when I was a young tad. I know I drove mom crazy.. Its funny that when you get older and more mature that you can look back and remember all the good and bad times and realize even the bad times were good. It takes awhile though..
Nothing. I'm 49 and my mother is 72 and my father passed away 2 years ago.
Question for you:
What things do you do to annoy your parents?

me too more than 40. sure wished i had mine to help me out in bad times, guide me when i needed it and love me enough to be a pain in my butt.
My Dad passed last year, he had Alzheimer's, My Mom passed 7 years ago she had inoperable lung cancer. I came from a large family and the most annoying that either of them ever did was love us. They literally gave up their lives for us. They never even got as far as enjoying their golden years together. My mom was only 72 which might seem old to you but from where I sit now, it's, not to far away. So enjoy all of the annoying things, cause they could be gone at any moment.

If only we could get old heads on young shoulders.
My parents were like yours. They would go without so we kids could have a extra chop to eat.
Not all but so many young ones today would say "More fools them"

What a gift, to hear your child's laughter, the first time as an infant, and now, as an adult who gets such a kick out of his old man.
both my parents are dead around 30 years now, theres so much want to ask them about the family, of cause i can't, sometimes i resent them for it. there were so many stories my father told me i've his life as a jackaroo, my grand father as a stage coach driver etc., but being young i did not listen and i wished i did. i feel misty writing this but there you go!

It's interesting how most of us have forgotten what may have annoyed us when our parents were in charge. My dad died in 2001. He was a different sort (and I think I am quite a bit like him, now that I think about it). I remember one thing I didn't like : When I was about 3, he had cancer and some saliva glands were removed. He recovered and was lived almost 50 more years. BUT, he had a habit of getting up during a meal, going to a sink in the "service porch"....just off the kitchen, and honking up phlegm. I realize now he had to choose between spit and swallow. I'd have chosen spit, too.
The real question might be: What would your kids say is the most annoying thing about you?

This may sound a bit weird but My son and I's conversation usually end in "Dad, shut up, my sides are killing me, gotta go". I have the uncanny ability to make him laugh for the duration of our conversation. My daughter in law will on occasion call me and say something like " Dad, he's in a bad mood call him, get him laughing". Tickles the hell out of me that he laughs for a half hour straight. I honestly can't think of anything that might piss him off. His mother on the other hand is a different story.
