    How to Transfer Video From a Computer to an iPadthumbnail Third-party iPad applications are compatible with video file formats other than MP4.

    The iPad is an Internet -and multimedia-equipped tablet computer designed and built by Apple, that enables you to purchase, rent and download videos directly from the online iTunes store. You can also transfer existing MP4-format video files to the iPad from a computer for viewing on the device. Make the transfer through the iTunes multimedia management software, and send it to the iPad via its USB cable.

    Download and install the latest version of iTunes on your computer, following the installation instructions detailed on the iTunes website. Launch iTunes on the computer when installation has completed.

    Drag and drop your video files from the computer into the "Library" section in the upper left corner of the iTunes window.

    Connect the iPad to the computer using its USB cable. An entry will be added to the "Devices" section of the left column in iTunes.

    Select the iPad in the "Devices" section of iTunes and click the "Films" tab. A list of video files that have been dropped into the iTunes library will be displayed in the "Films" box.

    Check the "Sync Films" box at the top of the "Films" tab in iTunes.

    Click the "Sync" button in the lower right corner to transfer your video files to the iPad.
