AGAIN to all my "Forum Friends" thanks for your continued support> I do read and appreciate your comments but can`t reply to all but you know who you are. Kisses,hugs, man hugs and hand shakes as applicable.
I try to help with a sensible answer but I also try to bring a smile or a feeling of "some one cares" to the forum. As you all know by now I am a non believer in the accepted God but I believe in humanity to all man/womankind.
Be nice if all askers would acknowledge the receipt of answers or comments and whether it helped. What do you think??

Hey PEOPLELOVE, you probably seen my last post on God and Christ so you know how I feel, but I bet we could sit down and have a couple beers together and get along just fine. you have good post's/answers and I look forward to seeing your comments.

Sure would. I've answered about 50(?) so far today and not one thank you from the askers. Gets disheartening after a while. Especially when I give, for the most part, valid answers and not smart ass ones.

Yes Colleen we don`t want a medal but it would be nice to at least be acknowledged and to know if our efforts helped some poor sod.

As I said in the past, I really don't expect an thank you for my answers, (the serious ones) I believe the answers are for everyone, not just the author. I actually get more 'thank yous' for my smart-ass answers than my serious ones, so i will continue with my smartass answers.. LOL As long as these no offending (unless warranted by offense)
I believe when you hang a sign on the door advertising your services, the person answering these services believe that a thank you is unnecessary-- It's like we are a cookie jar, a person reaches into the cookie jar, takes a cookie, never thanks the jar.

I'm going to switch to all smart ass answers as I see they "sell" the best. I mean why be serious here? Who wants real answers anyway. Most of the members appreciate only the smart ass answers and the members do the TU's. I see the TU's as my pay for being here so many hours out of the day. It does get to me when I put in a real valid answer only to get one TU and have it drop to the bottom of the list because the smart ass answer gets 6 TU's. I'm just generally speaking here and not directing this at you. I'm just using your comment as a jumping off point ;) Yes, yes, I know I have over 42K karma but I also have 5745 posted answers. K, I'm done, lol
As I said Colleen, 'nobody thanks the jar for the cookie'.. It's like when your persona is recognized, the expected answers go noticed AND appreciated but it is a match for ones persona so the feeling is, 'why bother thanking when this person is doing what is expected of them.." Stepping out of line seems to draw more attention, forget the answers, look at the questions! Some of the most 'off the wall' questions get the most answers where some serious questions are perhaps not 'entertaining' enough so fewer answers come forth.
I do try my best to answer questions that I think are serious with a serious answer.. Sometimes i make a mistake and give a smartass answer and I am corrected, at that time i will see that this person is serious and i will change my tone.. I did one of those tonight over 'aliens'..
In summary:
I come here because it is fun, I like the regulars, we all get along great, we do have a bit of a clique here but most forums are like that, my own forum is like that too! I just don't think you, me or anyone should take it personal that we do not get that 'pat on the back' for doing what we enjoy doing, I enjoy helping people when I can, I enjoy the entertainment here with the humor and the smartass answers, its entertainment. I do think this place would fall apart if everyone here answer questions like an encyclopedia with no personal persona involved.. We ask many times-- 'Why don't you google that??" I think I can answer this, because GOOGLE hasn't the personality this place has.. And, the smartass answers are a strong part of this.. As long as they are not derogatory. :)

I guess my point is, the correct answers get buried under smart answers a lot of the time. So I guess we just take the seriousness out of the forum. It's all fun and games. Carry on.
No!! I think you missed the point! Of course the 'serious' questions get serious answers and they are noted.. This place is a question and answers forum..
Many forums mine included have many rooms to express different genre, we have 'off topic section as most do where all the wise azzes convene and attempt to outdo each other.. the serious sections are moderated and sometimes things get stupid, they move it to 'off topic'.. We only have unanswered and answered-- Once answered, they endup here.. we don't have a lot of room here to flex so everything ends up here, serious, humor, smartazzs, all of it. So I am only saying that we gotta take the good with the bad.. To me, its all good!
In the old forum, everyone moderated, we don't have that here so it looks like its upto you as the moderator and I think you do a great job-- I think a couple more mods would be good too because sometimes we get obnoxious foul language questions and people jump in, it just keeps it alive.. Until you come in and kill it.. Great job!!

my opinion is that most of the so called smartazz stuff, sometimes is more rude than anything. I agree with a variety of opinions, but do it with humor and don't make people feel offended!!

Thanks Yvonne, yes all clear on the western front. Small divaticulitis but the Gstroenteroligst was happy.
You are right every body over 50 should have check every couple of years, early detection can mean a long life as opposed to a early death.
I had endoscopy at same time, told him to be sure to do the throat first.

oh peoplelover I am so pleased that you got the green flag yes your right every body over 50 should get checked out i have been diagnosed with BPV "ear" not very pleasent have o see a ENT specialist not looking forward to that though it is nothing compared to somtethings mine is minor
