And I'm not talking about karate lessons with Chuck Norris either. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences where they had to learn a lesson.. and it may have cost a lot of money.. or maybe no money at all, but you paid a heavy price? I once paid $1000 for this great second hand german made P.A... and I sold it to a guy for $300 because I had to pay my rent. I don't know what the lesson was, but it was a sad day.. I even went with him to the music store where he tested it out to make sure it worked.. still he was insistent on ripping me off.

I used to see a bunch of cars stopped in the middle of the everglades on alligator alley. So one day I decided to stop and see what all the fuss was about, well there were several people there feeding the alligators. A few years later I decided to take co-worker from another state to go see the alligators. From my previous visit, I learned that alligators liked to eat marsh mellows, so I brought some with us. While feeding the 20 or so alligators marsh mellows, a Ranger pulled up on his quad and decided to give me a ticket. Even though I didn't know it was against the law, it cost me $400.00,. That was the most expensive bag of marsh mellows I ever bought.

I gave a car worth about 2000 to a hard luck girl one of my kids knew for 200 and she didn't pay. I gave another 2500 car to a co-worker so his kid could get to work for a blackpower rifle, instaed he gave me a broken bow and 100 and then he sold the car. I changed the clutch for a guy for 200 plus the parts, he paid for the parts after a week or so. I traded a 1000 guitar for a washing machine. I gave my 4 kids at least 2 cars each including a 70 charger 89 suburban and 57 f100 that I put a 350 and automatic in. I gave a brother a 69 3/4ton 4x4 chevy and a 72 blazer. I've painted cars/truck for people for materials. I give away 100's of pounds of fruits and vegetables, and 100's of eggs a year. I cut down trees for a neighbor because it was going to cost him 6000. I've bought bikes and toys for kids that didn't have. I worked on a ranch for 7yrs as a kid for a hotdog a couple of times a year and a in lesson in character building. I guess I'm a sucker, but I look at it as a kind of test of others characters and hope they think of it once in a while and it makes them a better person, but most probably don't because most seem to live by "do unto others then split". I guess there from a tough jungle and that's what they feel it take to survive? I think the most expensive lesson may be yet to come. Sorry about your PA Anon, maybe your get a deal on another one soon.

Oh no worries, it was a long time ago. You seem to be a pretty giving person. I hope you are also practicing the art of receiving?.. that is another good lesson :]
