I went there a long time ago and loved it. I'd like to return there someday. It's probably become more developed but I would imagine it's still pretty nice there.
Very expensive place to live. Been there (9) times since I was 16. Last time was 18 years ago.
Honolulu is so over run with high rise hotels and apartment buildings now that one can only get sense of where they really are by traveling to the other side of the island (Waimea).
Maui is nice (Lahaina) but its having a urban transformation also. A more peaceful part of that island would be Hana, located on the other side of the island and takes two hours to reach by a harrowing narrow mountain road that's not for the squeamish.
All and all, our 50th state is not all its cracked up to be anymore.

I lived there for 15 years - best friendships ever. So easy going... I could walk out my door & 1 block later hike a trail along a ridge to overlook the other side of the island. It may be growing, but I love the look up the downtown streets to the green mountains. I did hear that Kapolei is looking like North County - AAAAHHHGGGG!
Such a shame. I wish they wouldn't develop things so much. I went up that road to Hana and it was scary but the view in Hana was worth it.
Arizona or Nevada very small backwards town or, hhmmm can't think of the term right now, If you've seen Tremors the movie a town like that. I'm not a city person.

Yes it is still going on. It is terrible.. But when I lived up north I thought that racism was whites disliking blacks.. when I moved here I realized that everyone hates everyone who is not like them.... Blacks /whites/mexican/ Indian... it is sad.

flip ~ If I had to leave california, I think I'd like to live in the blue ridge mountain area of virginia. (sounds beautiful ... just the words even!)
florida would be good but the humidity is terrible. My son lives there so i know first hand. Leeroy says it too.

Not sure where the Waltons lived, but I've traveled through that area a few times over the years and always thought I'd like to live there. Pretty country, short winters and few natural disasters.
I want to move back to CA, I live in FL now and don't like the humidity or the fast pace of life. CA was so much more laid back. Alaska, Hawaii, or maybe Oregon.
Texas was nice, but way to hot in the summer, and it get's very cold in then winter as well. I just really liked the low cost of living.

never been to texas and never got to go west would like to do it one day the comment you made about FL it still dosnt ring any bells I do remember the Hotel was on the beach and it was owned by a French couple !!
Oh well, there we quite a few foreign investors that owned hotels I'm sure. Lauderdale by the Sea, is where there were quite a few French Canadian residents were. I think when the dollar is weak we get tons of Canadians down here. Glad they didn't riot when they lost the Hockey playoffs, lol.
Ohio is nice but if I moved to another state I think it would be Texas, seems like a place an all american redneck could fit right in..........lol

I believe that California is the most beautiful state in the USA, every climate is here, snow-ski in the morning and take a dip in the pacific in the afternoon, so much to see and do, natural wonders and some not so natural. Nobody can take this away from CA but the politics here is totally left-wing and out of control. I remember during the rich years under republicans we were not in debt, I remember driving I-5 in the central valley and stopping at the rest areas where the state had refreshment stands where they gave you a soft drink, chips, sandwiches, candy, everything but smokes and alcohol.. and it was paid for by the state. The roads were in good shape, we have education system that was the best in the nation and things were affordable. Not anymore.. Roads suck, education systems are the worst, nomore free refreshments, layoffs, crime is way up.. Please send me a real republican to straighten this mess out, not that make believe republican Govinator..
Yeah I know that, my co-worker sold their home here for 1.2 million and moved to GA and bought a home in Atlanta for 450k that is twice as big as the one they sold here!! Only thing is, they really miss the weather here, says too hot and muggy down there! LL! I love GA. Been there many times, the best treatment I ever got was a little restaurant on hgy 41 (?) I'll never forget that waitress, what a sweetie!
Not brown, we prefer to call it 'GOLD'. :) I'm not sure what part of CA you speak of unless you are talking about the Mojave desert. Yeah, its a burn down there and all through the central valley but I'm in god's country, Silicon valley, it's beautiful here and 'most of the time' the weather is perfect, but not now, it's cold! Tonight will be in the 30's very unusual days are much warmed but as soon as the sun drops, it's like someone turned the A/C on.

Hey, I have an update and am really looking forward to this move, I am moving to AZ at the end of this month for work and the next week I am going to Hawaii for a month for a job and to visit friends. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and am psyched.
So I get to move at no cost through work and will have plenty of spare time to soak up the sunshine and beauty of Hawaii for a month or so.

In Kosovo because you can survive easy, the government is very corrupt, and happen very tragic things and we`re learn with them so sometime look so funny. People are very friendly, the opportunity to realise big dreams don`t exist but to have a happy life exist. i love because is my country ...
