What is Africa continent original name and what is the meaning of Africa
The name Africa sound strange, and i believe there was an ancient name which i want to know, so, my question is what is Africa continent original name and what is the meaning of the name Africa?

In Roman times, either from the Phoenician word afar meaning "dust" or the Berber ifri meaning "cave". The "ca" at the end is a standard Latin ending for places - the same as in AmeriCA.
