    indeed it does. im living proof of that.!
    This is why so many people that go on a diet and start working out gain weight, and can't figure out why, it's because they are gaining muscle and loosing fat. The problem is sometimes people quit because of this effect.

    So if this happens to you keep up the good work. Don't quit and stick with it.
    The density of muscle is more than fat so 10 pounds of muscle takes up less space than fat. When people start working out they could actually stay the same weight but fit into their clothes better so don't be fooled by those charts that say that you should weigh a certain weight for your height. The real goal could be to lower your body fat percentage.
