Agree with you dowsa windy day windy road, you can get up, sit up, pull up you can get down off a horse or down off a duck or even lay down plus lay down the law and lay down the carpet. No wonder the Welsh speak Welsh a lot of the time
Many people that pass through here English is their second language.. Their English is typed more as they hear it.
Some Examples are.
There=their
here = hear
buy = bye or by
etc.
Phonetically? Yes,
Accurately? No!
It is up-to the English speaking community here to discern their meanings, not their intelligence.
Although there are some that just can't spell, usually those are English speaking people..

HOORAY VINNY! It was time that someone found a way to say that. thumbs way up. My relative is a doctor and he can not spell. He flew threw colleges despite his not being able to spell. (He was extraordinarily good at math and physics)
"It is up to the english speaking community here to discern their meanings, not their intelligence." <speaking of people who can't spell very well.> vinny

I have a woman friend that is Taiwanese, her English is terrible, she emails me and I laugh me butt off, she gets so angry with me when i mock her, she's a great sport though. as far as her intelligence? Ahe has a PhD in music, she has a CPA and she is a financial genius when it comes to working the system. If i ever have an investment question i go to her, she is unmarried and has managed to make herself very wealthy here in the USA. A total riot to be with too. Especially when she gets on a roll.. LOL
My Asian friend will agree with you on that but I tell her that she is not smarter than a Sicilian.. We have ways of making them agree.. :)
I forget a lot of things, I almost forgot my wife's birthday is tomorrow, she is very smart though, she said.. "hony, don't buy me anything for my birthday TOMORROW--" Thats how she reminds me.. She's smart huh..? LOL She does that every year..
"AND DON'T FALL FOR THAT OLD (JUST KNOWING THAT "YOU REMEMBERED;" "(IS ALL I NEED!)" "WHAT A LOAD OF CROC!"

where=were
sheet=sh!t Ooops! Excuse my English please;it's my only 3rd language - yeah show off too :)

I believe that. When we went to Los Angeles and stayed in a hotel, all the maids and many people did not speak English. I was wondering why. Then, I asked my brother-in-law about it. He said there are many Spanish speaking people there. One time, Los Angeles belonged to Mexico and the Americans bought it from them. Is that true?
I disagree with almost all answerers.
Here in AkaQA-land NOBODY speaks English. AkaQA-istas only write in English - most of the regular ones at least; some better than others, some worse than others but the majority of others pretty darn well. Of course, behind the akaQA scene some of them do speak to each other too but I don't know who those are - TABOO...
