    What is the difference between Marketing and Sales? Are they same?

    Marketing:  a process in which a business entity goes through to identify the needs of the consumers by extracting information from such sources as demographics, location, income, channels of distribution, price, decision makers, population shifts, etc., to finally create a marketing strategy to fulfill these consumer needs.


    Sales:  The application of the 4 P's to help get the sale consummated:  Product, Place, Promotion, Price.

    marketing involves how you will sell the product via all forms of media which will eventually sell that item
