Crows and ravens along with rooks and jays all belong to the same family, "corvus" which is latin for raven.
I am pretty sure they are the same. They are smart, but very agressive when it comes to food. I put a couple slices of Bread out on my lawn. A red squirrel was running with a slice of Bread in his mouth and a crow swooped down and took it away from him.
I believe they are the same. Did you know that crows are some of the most intelligent creatures in the animal world? They can construct and use tools.

I knew that! Our crows are pretty smart. They work in pairs & will steal anything if it looks like food.
