for answers read matthew 5:31-32 also matthew 19:9-end. one scriptupal reason is fornication all fornications are unlawful in the sight of god. but not all fornication is adultery. the innocent may remarry and not live in sin. studyin matthew and you will learn your answers

There were way to many to list so here are a few:

    Matthew 19:6 (TLB)
6 The two shall become one—no longer two, but one! And no man may divorce what God has joined together."

    Matthew 19:7 (TLB)
7 "Then, why," they asked, "did Moses say a man may divorce his wife by merely writing her a letter of dismissal?"

    Matthew 19:9 (TLB)
9 And I tell you this, that anyone who divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery."

    Matthew 5:31 (MSG)
31 "Remember the Scripture that says, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him do it legally, giving her divorce papers and her legal rights'?

    Matthew 5:32 (MSG)
32 Too many of you are using that as a cover for selfishness and whim, pretending to be righteous just because you are 'legal.' Please, no more pretending. If you divorce your wife, you're responsible for making her an adulteress (unless she has already made herself that by sexual promiscuity). And if you marry such a divorced adulteress, you're automatically an adulterer yourself. You can't use legal cover to mask a moral failure.

I believe that many churches recognize abandonment as another accepted reason for divorce, as well as abuse.

    Footnote to Previous post

Please note Jesus was quoting from Genesis chapter 2 Verse 24
and expanding on the event as an observer present at the occasion.

Something else he said to the corrupt religious teachers of the time was this:

(John 5:45-47) . . .Do not think that I will accuse YOU to the Father; there is one that accuses YOU, Moses, in whom YOU have put YOUR hope. 46 In fact, if YOU believed Moses YOU would believe me, for that one wrote about me. 47 But if YOU do not believe the writings of that one, how will YOU believe my sayings?”

Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible know as the Pentateuch. But Moses had been dead for some 1500 years when Jesus walked the earth. So now how should we view religious leaders who teach doctrine of evolution as fact? And where will you put your trust? Will you put it in some Pseudo scientist whos life span at best is not more than 100 years, or Will you put your trust in one who "Has sayings of everlasting life" and was present with God "In the beginning.2 Gen chapter 1 v 1

I hope this gives you a different slant on the origins of of man.

    Kind regards

(Matthew 19:3-9) 3 And Pharisees came up to him, intent on tempting him and saying: “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on every sort of ground?” 4 In reply he said: “Did YOU not read that he who created them from [the] beginning made them male and female 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh’? 6 So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart.” 7 They said to him: “Why, then, did Moses prescribe giving a certificate of dismissal and divorcing her?” 8 He said to them: “Moses, out of regard for YOUR hardheartedness, made the concession to YOU of divorcing YOUR wives, but such has not been the case from [the] beginning. 9 I say to YOU that whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery.”

So the innocent party of a divorce may remarry, But the Guilty party would violate Gods law again and be disfellowshiped from the true Christian congregation.

hey george! you cant confess nothing GODS WORD STANDS!,,,no sex before marraige or else you will be a fornicator,,and adulterer,,,

GOD HATES DIVORCE..BUT IF YOUR SPOUSE CHEATS ON YOU ,,YOU ARE FREE TO REMARRY

Divorce was different in the days of Christ. A man could divorce his wife. Even Joseph thought about divorcing Mary when he found she was pregnant (See Matthew, Ch 1)

However, in regard to divorce today, the Bible does say if you marry a divorced person that is adultery. But it also says to not be yoked unequally with unbelievers. (Corinthians)

Even ministers are divorced. It is a different world today. But a strong Chrisitian marriage will have the couple pray together, get counseling, and so forth. Pray a lot lot by yourelf and together.

It biblical times, I don't think "putting her away" quite meant divorce. The angels cautioned Joseph not to do Mary any harm.

hypocrites its till death do you part in the marriage vows not you or i die in the Christians vows but to look at another woman with lust in your heart is committing adultery to the Lord so is do not judge and you will not be judged the law is clear it is your faith that is clouded if you remarry repent for the former and do right in the sight of the living God and marry in the flock.

    PEOPLELOVER

Are you a New Zelander spiriet? I have heard they like the flock!!!

Read Holly Bible: Matthiew 5:31-32 end)

well the bible say do not divorce but if you have to because is not other choise due and you can married again.

    There is a scripture in the Bible about divorce but I do not know the verse, but it says;
If a man finds fault with a woman, let him give her a paper of divorce so that she may remarry. But if the second husband finds the same fault in her; woe be unto her.

read your bible my answers are from the bible

all but married fornication is a sin even masturbation.

i ment all fornication is not adultry those may remarry with sin

it says more about rape and getting away with it than marriage, as far as I see, they all had many wives those days

i beleive if physical or emotional damage has occured or someone in the relationship has commited adultry, then i believe ur free to marry

    kjay

I believe if physical or emotional damage has been done , or someone in the relationship has committed adultry, then yes u can marry again

the bible said that it is a sin to remarry inless you part by death.
you can remarry but you will live with the sin till death and be judged for it.

ISLAM SAYS IT IS AN ACTION WHICH IS MOST UNLIKELY TO GOD AND SEE QURAN VERSE AL-NISA WHICH ADVICE THE PROCESS OF DIVORCE.
    TAK

in that case both person may be divorced.
