2001 Chevy Suburban lost power and then regained it.

My 2001 Chevy Suburban lost power and then regained it, almost as if it was running out of gas, but tank was full. No lights or changes in gauges except that tach went from 1500 rpm to zero and then slowly back up to 1500.
Is this a common problem? What is the cause?

could be fuel starvation if it has an inline fuel filter
check to see if its blocked , is petrol or diesel, if its a diesel change the fuel filter and see what happens
    check for loose battery connection
