    I can't remember which acids specifically, but here are some general examples: Combine with other chemicals to make acetylene gas; make drain cleaner; set dyes in textile industry, put in certain types of batteries; clean oxidation off from aluminum before welding, and I believe it is also used in tannerys processing hides to leather.
