One of the main problems with the way the world is now is that people don't care about anyone but themselves. It's a sad fact, but true. Read the newspapers any day of the week and see why people are killing and hurting each other, mostly for selfish, self-centered reasons. Until we learn to love one another, help one another and remember what compassion is all about, our world is doomed. We don't need a rapture to take place on a certain day, it is happening each and every day. Is it truly so hard to hold out our hands to another in need and offer our help? Is is so hard to say that you're sorry for anothers pain and suffering and offer a shoulder to cry on.
Thank you Darci for making me think a little about how I would treat someone else rather than myself, and thank you to all those that would offer compassion.

I have to disagree 6dogs4us. I see kindness and love all the time from people. If there were ever a good news channel I think we would all be suprised as to the amount of kindness going on every day. Sure there is bad and very sad things going on as well but please don't overlook the good too.
I agree with you on that Mom, a news station showing only the good. Yes there is good in the world but not reported enough for sure. The things you see in the newspapers and TV are mostly the bad. But I still think that across the board most people are complacent, not good or bad. Being complacent is just as bad as not caring about others.
Thank you very very much 6dogs4us, to me you have hit the nail on the head. I am not saying there is not good in the world, there is, I am not saying everyone is bad, they are not, I am simple trying in my own way to say that we and that includes me (and I for one am trying harder every day to change that in me to do better) that we as a society as a whole, tend to turn a blind eye, turn the other way, walk away, try to pretend we do not see someone's pain or hurt. I for one myself hope and pray that God shows me ways even if it is the smallest of things whatever I can do to help another shoulder the burdens in life, offer a helping hand, offer a hug, kindness, a listening ear a shoulder to cry on whatever I can do each and every day that is what I want to strive to do. Thank you again.

I would assume it was a private matter an emotional problem that you would want to be left alone.

I see. But I guess I think now days too many people walk away and look the other way and do not even offer any kind of kind words, maybe a hug, or just sitting there and see if listening would help I guess?
I'm no hugger and if I knew the person that would give me the right to ask if I could help.

I am sorry that happened with the girl on London subway. I understand. But I am very much trying to learn to stop, look, listen, lend a helping hand, be there for someone and look for ways even if only small that I can help lend someone a helping hand. But I do understand that it is taking chances, but I have always heard it said that hurting people hurt people does not make it right, but they are hurting so I for one am going to try my best to look beyond that and try anyway.
