    all genuine silver no matter what form it is in,will have a hallmark stamp on it, especially sterling silver. a good reputable jeweller will tell you by the stamp[s] the silversmiths and the country in which it was made.
    On jewlery there is a stamp.. The most common is "italy" Look at the clasp it should be there.
    Do a density test. If you measure the mass of the object and divide it by the volume (displacement test would be easiest) then you have calculated the density. the density of silver is 10.49 so if you get something close to this then it is silver.
