It's simple, don't let it shake you! You can first start with where you were raised or brought up. Then your education, some general information on anything you might have had published, a little information on your life in regards to wife or husband and kids, and some very general information as to what state you currently reside in. Don't get too specific on the more personal aspects of your life, keep it somewhat concise, and makes sure it flows.
If you can get an editor to say they want to publish your book...that says it all. There's what qualifies you to have wrote the book. Have someone that you trust their judgement take a look at it, and get their opinion. There are many writers groups out there with some fairly talented and insightful people in them, that may also be of help.
About 8 or 9 years ago, I wrote a childrens book for my daughter, "Christine and The Fruit of Wisdom." I was out of work and it was just something I wanted to do. I never made any real money out of it...but, that wasn't my primary motivation! Don't lose heart with any rejection slips that come your way, as it's all part of the process, it really is!
