Changing the Water in a Fountain

I have a big fountain but the water has gone green. I want to empty it and was trying to save some money. I read somewhere that if the fountain has a pump, you can use it somehow to take the water out as well as putting fresh water in. I was thinking about either buying or rent a sump pump but if I can use the fountain's own pump to do the same thing, that would be great?

YOU COULD ALSO TRY A GARDEN HOSE AND SIPHON IT FOR FREE

For your big fountain that has gone green, it going to take up to 1.2 million gallons of water to replace.  At a bargain price of 10 cents a gallon, it's going to cost you over $100,000, plus tax.

If the pump in the fountain is accessible then you will see the intake and output hoses. Take the one that spits the water out over the fountain if you can and place it outside of the fountain allow it to drain. Why can't you run a hose back in and refill it?

harbor freight sells cheap transfer pumps tha would be perfect for that job
