Have you been quite tense lately? Sometimes stress in our sleep can make is clench our teeth causing sore joints in the jaw. I chew gum while I work so sometimes even that causes a sore jaw. There is also another condition called lock jaw so if it persists then seek the advice of a doctor.
Could be a tooth problem also. Have you been to a dentist lately? Teeth problems can also cause lock jaw.
