I don't about Julie Gillard. I just learn of her through your question. So I did a some research on her and this is some of her bio.
Julia Eileen Gillard (born 29 September 1961) is the 27th Prime Minister of Australia. She is the first woman to become Prime Minister of Australia. She is also Australia's first prime minister never to have married.[3] Gillard is the first prime minster not born in Australia since Billy Hughes, who served from 1915 to 1923.[4]
Gillard became the leader of the Australian Labor Party on 24 June 2010 when Kevin Rudd resigned. She had been Deputy Prime Minister under Kevin Rudd. On 11 December 2007, she became the first woman in Australia's history to take on the prime-ministerial role when she was the acting prime minister while Rudd went to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali.[5]
Gillard has been a Labor Party member of the House of Representatives since the 1998 federal election. She represents the Division of Lalor, in western suburbs of Melbourne.
But, to actually answer your question I don't know enough about her to say if she's doing a good job or not.

She is not doing a good job. She is breaking the back of this wonderful country - Australia. She will go next time, I'm sure.
What can I say, another one bites the dust!!!
