Which of the Ten Commandments do you like? Which do you struggle with? Which do you not like?

    Exodus 20:1-17

1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

    13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

    13. Thou shall not kill.

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

We go to church then we get gas and go out to eat, causing people to work for us, is that not breaking this commandment?

if your mule fell in a ditch on the sabbath.. what about the emergency workers, cops firefighters,emt,doctors...

God's great command is to love the Lord with all you heart, mind soul and strength. The first four of the Ten Commandments show us how to demonstrate our love for Him; the second great commandment is love your neighbor as yourself and the last six explain how we are to demonstrate our love for everyone. So no I don't believe in picking and choosing. Either you love God or you don't. Either you love humanity or you don't. Either you have Christ in you or you don't. Either you walk according to the Spirit or the flesh.

its cafeteria style christianity ,just pick what you like and leave the ones you dont like.thats not going nto work!either love them all or hate them all, not to mention NONE of us can keep them all or CHRIST would have died in vein!

Thalt shall not kill. I'm having trouble with that one.

I thought there were only Ten Commandments.

There are only ten commandments, but there are 17 verses that cover them. Commandment number 4 actually takes up verses 8-11 and verses one and two are not the commandments, it is just telling who is giving the commandments.

    Sorry about that.

This is another tap on the shoulder for (friendfgod) Regards: **Is Christianity in your Mind or Heart”

Christos meaning "Love Consciousness," Christ is the "Love Spirit" they are living essences interchangeable in meaning and proper interpretation. True Christians Understand this. Therefore One will to the other; Love to Understanding, Understanding to Love. Love the Son, is the only one who can lead anyone (no matter the Tradition,) to the Father who is present in Peace. Where there is Peace, there is the presence of God that we may know Him in earth-life. :)

We should not divide; God gave mankind 10 which are a challenge to the majority. Frankly, while a Christian, my life as demonstrated being unable to keep any of the commandments. If nothing else, I believe God knew that even His most ardent follower(s) would be unable to measure up.... That said, we need to strive and ask God's help to achieve His best for one and all.

Yes, but what I find disturbing or at least perplexing is that the old testament talks about a new covenant and the new testament talks about a new covenant. Then when you read the new covenant it says that I (God) will write my laws in their minds and in their hearts and remember their sins no more. If He writes them in our hearts we should love them. If we love them they shouldn't be so hard to keep. And that part of the world that hates Christians, does so because they find us to be hypocrites. Because God has given His perfect law, and Christians unapologetically don't demonstrate it.

If you have children, wouldn't you love it if they honored you?

Don't you wish that everyone, perhaps especially the religious, would not kill?
I'll bet you were happy when you found out your true love was lovin someone else?
How about stealing, perhaps you like to steal, but I bet you don't like it when someone steals from you?
What about lying? Seems like everybody does it, I think it is a requirement in politics and law, but doesn't it piss you off?
How about they way some people make you uncomfortable by the way they check out your goods? Makes you go out and purchase a gun you didn't want, start locking all the doors of your house and car? Convinces you to tell your wife and daughter to start dressing differently and come straight in the house instead of lingering out front?
No one here like Gods laws of love?

I love my children regaurdless of the honor they show me... I am glad I have a wonderful FATHER.

    Mitchell

Of course you love them regardless, perhaps your children routinely show you honor and respect because you brought them up teaching them to do so. On the other hand, if they routinely show disrespect, selfishness, brattiness, temper tantrums and so on, wouldn't you love "it" if they showed you honor?

Did you know that there was originally 42 commandments. The dead sea scrolls can prove this, [I have seen the proof first hand]. Some are to the effect of how many shekals you must pay for a goat, or who has the right to first drink from a well. The roman empire cut them down to ten when they converted from they're pagan beliefs. They did this to simplify an old testiment that had many contradictions. This was one of a very many parts of the old book that they changed.
