Niacin belongs to the B group of vitamins. It is vitamin B3. There must be several uses for it, but personally I only know this one: if you take niacin tablets for about a week before you go for holidays at the beach, in the jungle or wherever... you develop a body odour that mosquitoes find appalling, so they will not sting you. Unfortunately, as I have been told, the smell may also keep fellow homo sapiens sapiens away.
