Gospel means "Good News". So what is this good news of Jesus Christ?
As we mature from an infant and view life we come to an awareness that we don't always do what is loving and kind to other people. No one can escape this fact. You will not find one living human being who can say that they have never once in their life done anything unloving against another. The bible calls this "sin" and sin is the transgression of God's Law. God has commanded us to love one another, when we do not love one another we have sinned or have transgressed God's Law.
The Scripture says it like this, "Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Now it is obvious to all human beings that they have sin. So where did this sin nature come from? The bible tells us how this happened.....
Rom 5:12 ¶ "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
Just as All people sin, All people die. The scripture says....
Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin [is] death;"
Because we all have sin, we all die. These truths are unescapable. We know we do not always love as we should (sin) and we know we will die (the wage for sin).
So what then is the Good News?!
God Himself chose to become a man through Jesus Christ and pay the wage of death on a cross for the sins of the entire world. The scripture puts it like this...
2Cr 5:21 "For he hath made him (Jesus) [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
1Ti 2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jhn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
We must face reality. You will die. Why? Because of sin which you cannot entirely avoid.
But God has made a way to a ressurrected eternal life through Jesus. Paul shouts out.....!
Rom 8:1 ¶ [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Pray and consider, you will die. Accept God's gift of eternal life in His Son today.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The Gospels are, I believe, the first four books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The GOOD NEWS is that Jesus offers us a way to enjoy an eternal life in Heaven. The Good News is the new covenant God made with us when Jesus was crucified and rose from death. The Good News IS Jesus Christ.
The bad news is, not everyone believes.
