As far as I can tell, it's part of Verizon.
Verizon FiOS
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"FIOS" redirects here. For the region in Spain, see F?os.
Verizon FiOS is a bundled home communications (Internet, telephone, and television) service, operating over a fiber-optic communications network, that is offered in some areas of the United States by Verizon Communications. Verizon has attracted consumer and media attention in the area of broadband Internet access as the first major U.S. carrier to offer fiber to the home/premises, and has received top ratings from Consumer Reports among cable television and Internet service providers.[1] Other service providers currently only use fiber optics deployment to the network backbone and use existing copper or coax infrastructure for the end user. The coverage area is still expanding; however, some areas do not have service or cannot receive TV and phone service because of franchise agreements. As of 2009[update], the number of homes with FiOS availability was 12.7 million, of which 3.1 million subscribe to the Internet service,[2] and 2.04 million to FiOS TV.[3][4] In 2010, that figure expanded to 3.8 million total FiOS Internet subscribers and 3.2 million TV subscribers.[5]
