    RIP My fur baby Sookie

My 2 yr old pomeranian died today. She was being treated for pancreatitous. She was much better. The vet put her in a cage to open the door for us... wehen we walked in to get her out ... she had asperated... The question is do I blame the vet??? Myself??? Or was it just time?

I'm sorry for your loss Jenn. My heartfelt condolences to you. As for your question: To some, Furbabies are just as much a part of our families as the people in them. The pain of losing them can sometimes make a person want to blame in order to deal with that pain. Unless you believe the vet didn't do everything possible for her or that you didn't do everything possible for her, there can be no blame. Blame is a negative and will only cause you more pain than it's worth. Just believe it was her time and she is now completely free of the disease that had quite possibly taken so much out of her. Perhaps her little body just became too worn out. She may have appeared better to you but animals do have the unique ability to look well even at their sickest. You loved her and she knew it. She loved you in return. She's taken that love with her and it will comfort her as she adjusts into her new reality. Now you have to take care of you and do not blame yourself for something that could not be changed or done better.

Ann, That is cute name for a cat, (furry child,) you make me smile, they can be worse than children at times, we are just their slaves, but would not want it any other way.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I have a 17 year old cat who about 3 years ago had pancreatitus and almost died but thank God he pulled through he has kidney disease but he is still here with me but I am so very very sorry for your loss because I know what I went through with several months with Oliver and still I watch him like a hawk and all wish I knew what to say because saying I am sorry just isn't enough but I am truly sorry for your loss and your pain.

DOGS ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST WONDERFUL CREATURES AND AS A DEVOTED DOG OWNER I SINCERELY SYMPATISE WITH YOU LOSS. I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN DOGS DIE THEY GO TO "THE GOLDEN SHORE" WHICH IS A LONG LONG GOLDEN BEACH WITH CLEAR BLUE OCEAN WATER LAPPING GENTLY ON THE SHORE> WHEN A DOG LOVER DIES THEY ALSO GO TO "THE GOLDEN SHORE" AND EVERY DOG YOU HAVE EVER OWNED AND LOVED IS WAITING FOR YOU AND THAT IS WHERE YOU SPEND ETERNITY> NO ILLNESS NO PAIN JUST LOTS OF LOVE OH! AND POO BAGS. REST IN PEACE SOOKIE.

Sorry about your loss Jenn. Losing a beloved pet is like losing a member of your own family. My heart goes out to you and yours. At least she's not suffering any more.

No one is really to blame. It may be time to rescue another dog. He or she will find you and your heart will be filled again. (I have been thru this too.)

I am so pleased you have something to rememeber I am picking up a norwegian forest cat on the 28th of this month cant wait she has the biggest ears on a kitten i have have ever seen we normaly never go to breeders but this was a spcial case the council were going to close her and the queen was already pregnant any way cut a long story short the whole family are in the army and she had lost her son & grandson & nephews and her second son had to come back from helman due to injuries so before the media got hold of this story the council has now let her breed as this was only her comfort due to all her traumatcs (in breeding her cats) melanie

We are adopting Sookies Brother and sister!!!! She is our hero.

    Dollybird

Ann, sorry to know you lost your cat also, hope we have happy endings.

my thoughts are with you Jenn, keep your chin up!

Sorry to hear the sad news. Hurts when a pet dies.

Is there any special way I can encourage to female cats to get on, they not belonging to same family, in fact they both stray, found about one yr apart ?

    Jenn

No... We just let ours work it out in their own way. If they fight we spray them with a water bottle. After a few times of that they pretty much stay away from each other.

                                                    A Pets Prayer

My people are so precious Lord,      I know you think so too, And I know you want me here,

To Love them just for you,    They take such gentle care of me,  And have such tender hearts,

Please use me Lord to comford them,   When ever their tear drops start,

They face alot of battles as they,  Live and work each day,  They need me Lord to make them,

And show them how to play,  The world is full of people but,,  Some times friends are few,

Please let my Love and Loyalty,  Remind them Lord of you,   And when my final moments come,

Lord, tell them as we part,   I was an made to order gift,   Right from your loving heart.     Amen.

There is so many people who can also  feel sad for anothers lost for there pet(child).   They really become part of the family.  Each one I have seems to become more and more human like......

    Condulance to you!

I believe I would just accept it as something that happened. Blaming the doctor gets you no where and blaming yourself is even sillier, why, I'd bet you give the cat one of your kidneys... It just was your ct time to go....It happens. Too bad it so sad to be so real.......
