How much does a movie ticket cost where you live? I live in New York City and the range for one on a Friday night....

goes for between $8.00 and $22.99. Don't you think $22.99 is outrageous? A night out for a family of 4, including snacks and drinks at the movies, and an average dinner can exceed $200!

I think the last movie I saw at a theater was in 2011 so I don't recall how much it costs, but I do remember it's expensive.

There are so many movie channels to watch now on tv that a night of fun with the family doesn't have to be so expensive. Be creative and set-up the livingroom to look like a theater. Let each kid choose his/her own toppings for a personal size pizza and make the pizzas together before the movie starts. Pause the movie during half time and pop some popcorn etc.
