@Ducky: Is that what it's called in Canada? If I'm not mistaken, you fly south for the winter. Do you have dual citizenship?. Oh....by the way, I don't want it.

Ours is called S.I.N. # (Social Insurance Number). No, I don't fly. When I have gone, it's been by car but that has not been an annual trip. No I don't have dual citizenship. Tourists can travel from Canada to the U.S. and vice versa. Have you ever come to Canada? We'll let you in for a visit, without citizenship papers. lol

@Ducky: I've been there 5 times; to Montreal.(2X), Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec City. Toronto is my favorite city. Sort of like a "miniature" N.Y.

This is just my opinion but in order to get a "real feel" for Canadians, you need to spend time in some small communities (under 100,000). Big cities, where most tourists go, don't paint a very accurate picture. When I go to the States, I visit small communities. Love to talk to the locals, attend local events.

@Ducky: Your point is well-taken. Canadians are great. Their generosity and kindness made me cry, and it was the impetus for what was to become a smashing Broadway hit.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXbxoy4Mges&t=41s

We don't get "payments". Ours is used for temporary unemployment (very limited), bank I.D., tax returns, etc.

I memorized it when I was 18 and had to fill out a lot of job aps.

I do. It is one of the important nos. that's needed to be stucked on our mind.

Pretty much had to in the military. It does make life easier. Seems like you need to know it for everything now days.
