Among your acquainences, male and female, what is the most common first name? For example....

(acquaintances) I know 3 Michaels and 4 Christines. You can include friends and family members too.

The question did not ask what age group. To satisfy your curiosity, late 30's to late 70's. :))

Paul, Michael, John, Steve.  For women, Linda, Raquel, Diana, Maria, Eva.

    John,Gary,Jack,Dave,Adam,Mike..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Maybe I'll ask about surnames. Hmmmmmmmm....Goolagong, Wanganeen...?
    mycatsmom

There was a singer named John Gary . And how bout Mick Dundee ? ;-)

Nobody has said David or James or Mark, all in my life. My family it’s Scott. In women it’s all spread out.....

    mycatsmom

    Terry mentioned Dave .
    jhharlan

Dave and David are two different names. I know davids that get upset when called Dave
    mycatsmom

Dave is a nick name for David
    jhharlan

A shortened form. A great deal of people do not like their names touched. Joseph G for one and David L for another.

I seem to know a lot of Michelles and a lot of Steves. I also know that if I'm instructed to deal with a particular person at a business for example, a "Tyler or Jordan or Ella" will probably be younger and a "Gloria or Joan or George" will probably be older.

That's surprising. I thought you might answer Donald, Scrooge ( McDuck), and Huey, Dewey and Louie.

@ Clonge A friend of mine posted this video today on Facebook. It's footage of New York 107 years ago. You may have seen it already, but if you haven't. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1By7SSnwsE

There were always a lot of Lindas in my age group. It seemed like every year , in elementary school, there were 4 Lindas in my class. And , there are  a lot of Pattys and Kathys . There were a lot of Johns , Bobs, and Steves. Every other boy was named John or Michael or Bob.

Clongey, I was born at the end of 1948. So I spent the first year of my life in '49. Thks for the link. Yup, there were a lot of Richards and Susans, and Davids and Bills in my elementary school. Lots of Garys.

Of my age group David, James, John , Robert, Clive, Christopher, Michael, Ian, Carolyn, Caroline, Margaret, Shirley, Susan, Mary, Jackie.

Then the younger generations now have, Tobby,  Pheonix, Jason, Jake, Scott, Kieran, Luke, Adam, Alfie. Girls are Tia, Ellie, Maizy, Sophie, Elizabeth.

    I met a preteen female named Alphie. I didn't know it\s a unisex name.
    Clonge

@CB: Is Alphie Hispanic? Maybe it's short for "Alphonsa", the female version of "Alphonso"?

    I doubt she's Hispanic. LOL

CB: I was just kidding. "LOL para dos."

I think hear in the UK Alfie is short for or comes from the name Alfred.
