    In New York City, and elsewhere, restaurants are graded by the Health Dept. "A", "B", and "C". "A" is for tops, "B" means...

    there was a violation or violations but not enough to close the establishment and "C" means that there were violations worse that "B" but not enough to mandate closure. Would you patronize a place that has less than an "A"? Also, the ratings are assigned to other businesses, such as supermarkets.

    A "B" rating for a restaurant means it 's doing 80% of its business correct.   I don't have a problem with eating at an establishment with a rating of B. 


     


    I would be concerned about eating in a restaurant with a C rating because of cleanliness and the possibility of contaminated food and food poisoning.   If the establishment that got the C rating normally receives a rating  or average of B and the lower rating was just a one time fluke then I would give it the benefit of the doubt and continue  my patronage, especially if the food is really good and I've not any problems if  I've eaten there  in the past.


     


    Any grade lower than a C, I think I would avoid the place like the plague.

    In NYC, there are no "D's". They are ordered to close by the Health Dep't, until they "get their acts together".

    I've never eaten at a "C". Most have been "A's"; once in awhile, a "B".

    I wouldn't doubt if a couple of the "Hole In The Wall" Mexican food restaurants I've been too had a C rating, but oh boy, they sure are tasty. LOL

    My little brother was an inspector of restaurants, city utilities and he also sets mosquito traps. If we ever get to talk for more then thirty minutes, I’ll find out if he has any real horror stories. I think a restaurant has to try really hard to get a B minus rating. Cleanliness is achieved through common sense. If it can spread germs, don’t use/do it. Like I wonder if you ever considered the lemon you requested for your tea or water... lemons ARE cut by hand.....

    My youngest son suggested I get new silverware because mine is over 35 years old. Sterilization via my dishwasher apparently isn't enough. My parents' 55 year old stuff didn't bother him.
    Grrrr.
    I really like my new stuff, though.

    I would prefer an "A". If you had a choice of a health care professional who was rated the same way, would you take a "B" or a "C"? The "C"s of the world, don't try as hard. Let's always reward the "A s"       :)

    Isn't there a Scottish song, something about "roamin' in the gloamin'? So, THAT's what the gloamin' is???

    Gotta wonder if the violation is sharing knives and cutting boards with raw poultry and anything else, or employees not washing their hands, or using stale-dated stuff.....I would prefer top health department ratings.

    I always carry wet wipes, so if I eat out I wipe the cutlery and the rim of the wine glass. But you never know what goes on in the kitchen, that bothers me too.

    Ya cannot be too safe Dave..we get a lot of that over here,how to sneeze into your arm and not your hand,always wash your hands when returning from shopping..i sometimes think it is over the top,however me and the wife got the flu last year even after the injection..mate.. i never want that again..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
