What do you mean by “when “? Alexa is almost human! Recognizing voices, anticipates questions, plays a magnificent game of 20 questions, and can understand my awful speech. She’s great and kind of scary.....

If it is developed properly, it will be a source of information and have no emotion. Sci-fi can make it seem possible, though...

I don't think they will be as smart as humans, b/c they won't have a brain or a soul. They'll only be able to spit out whatever  they were programmed. As the say in the computer world,  " garbage in, garbage out "
