.... I visited with my doctors years ago about waiting time and had an understanding

....one hour limit conditions: if the staff does does not communicate with me within the hour I will leave

....if they communicate and give me an option to reschedule or wait, I will reschedule or choose to wait past the hour

....I have walked out only once

....usually, they see me within the first 15-30 minutes

....the older I get the more patience I use

I wonder how many "patience" have the doctors lost by not notifying them within a reasonable amount of time..

A doctor’s office! Some are awful and what are you going to do about it? Get up after an hour and walk out? Knowing that you could be next in five minutes? They take so long to get into. I’m a doctor-a-holic......

Yep, the doctors can really be inconsiderate of our time. Odd, though, it seems like the past two years I've waited no more than 15 minutes except for rare occasions. Not sure how that happened!

I went on a touring holiday in the U.S. in 1981, one of our stops overnight was at Scottsdale in Arizona, our tour leader told us to go to the local Restaurant for dinner, there were around 10 of us at a table, all these patrons came in and were served straight away, 45 minutes later we were served, we were not amused, the waiter said nothing whilst taking our order, not only that the tip was on the bill, we found out next morning from our tour leader it was because we were Aussies, we are known to be lousy tippers, we learnt after that to give at least 10% tip even if they don't deserve it ------ We don.t tip in AUSTRALIA, THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY ARE VERY WELL PAID.

10%??? Don't come to Canada and expect good service a second time. Here, they think 15%-20% is reasonable....wait staff is poorly paid here.

Ducky, my wife knew of this and when we were in New York she was giving $50 & $100 tips where we had exceptional service, it was extravagant but it worked, we set aside a 'few'dollars just for tipping.

I had lunch with my son, daughter-in-law, and 6 grandchildren (ages 1 1/2 - 9) in Monterey, Calif this afternoon. Because of the number of people at the table (9), a 20% service charge was added to the bill.
    That was the tip.

How long will I wait  depends upon the circumstances.

The last time I walked out of an establishment was Applebee's  We sat at the table for ten minutes before a glass of water was sent to the table and another five minutes waiting for a menu.

This particular Applebee's was shut down a couple years back.

    They are now Kent,they just got a $25 a week pay rise..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

The gaming staff in a hotel would be around $50 an hour, not bad after 6 weeks training, waste of time being a trade apprentice.
