Never heard of Bunnings here but l understand their parent company owned Homebase, whose store closed down in my town 2 years ago, simple answer to this lies in CHINA, sell cheap s..t for a good profit, or sell cheap s..t for a meagre profit, at the end of the day cheap s..t is cheap s..t, in the UK at the moment things are all cheap s..t selling for expensive prices because of the uncertainty of BREXIT, it's only gonna get worse unfortunately, and it ain't gonna be cheap.

If it's a big box chain, I'm surprised that one of their other stores doesn't simply cover the costs of the lower profit store, until they get on their feet. I'm pretty sure that that's what Home Depot, Lowes, etc. does here. Not all stores are equal in profitability, nor can they ever expect to be. Some just 'maintain' in order to keep a profile in the city.

After two years, it seems premature and anxious, especially considering projections.

Bunnings. Hmmm. Never heard of it but reading the comments has explained what CB wrote. Home Depot or Lowes. HD is where we bought our present backyard, ie: tools, materials, plants and goop. My yard would be bare without them with the exception of my worm hotel (but without foliage what’s the point?). So, your post, ter, is about a potential closing or something? Sorry, it’s late so I made neither hide nor hair of it.....
