Why, yes, I beat a ticket. But for the life of me I don’t remember how. Something to do with private parking, the time, and why I was there. I didn’t want to pay it. They checked thoroughly and it took some time but I got off. I’ll come back and tell you if I ever can remember....

Yes, once. I had put money in the meter but it was broken and wouldn't turn. Five minutes in a business, only to drop something off and bingo....a ticket.

My friend took a parking ticket to court, claiming the meter was faulty. The judge called the PD (same building) and asked for Officer Cushman to come to the courtroom. After over half an hour trying to locate a nonexistent policeman, someone finally realized it was a citation issued by the officer driving the Cushman cart that day (similar to a golf cart).
Judge dismissed the ticket and invited us to have a beer later.

all the time. I believe the secret is to talk to the ticket writer while or before he/she writes it. I have talked police out of more tickets. One told me I was one of the few that spoke to the police with respect. He said I did not stop completely at the stop sign. He did not give me the ticket, but told me a stop sign means, "totally stop all four wheels before proceeding". Yes sir! Sometimes I tell them about all my problems. And they say, OK go. I'm gonna let you pass this time.
