I think I can buy a cinvert to step up our 120 voltage to 220v and the machin will run. James spliced in an American electric plug and the machin doesn’t work. I think it’s voltage. Help me, help me, help me....... will I be able to get it running?

Here you are stuck with an (expensive) spinning wheel that's no longer working and you won't receive a refund due to altering the machine.
The simplest solution would have been to buy a voltage converter/travel adapter.
The price ranges from cheap ( like the one purchased for my computer)to fairly expensive.
The best thing about an adapter is that it actually works!

I'm so sad for you! You could have bought a converter from Amazon for about $15. I'm so sad for you. You still have James skulking around being a know-it-all.

Unfortunately, we DO reap what we sow, and I have a hunch James brought that on himself.
Tip, you may consider changing your Butler, for one with some experience in electronics.
