I am prompt. Everyone knows that about me, so consequently, I am rarely forced nor expected to wait for anyone more than a few minutes. Waiting in a line for service? That depends. If it's Christmas, I deserve it. If it's a consistent lack of staff and I can do business elsewhere, I'm gone. If it's a restaurant that cooks from scratch (which I love) I'm willing to wait for a properly prepared meal. (I know how long it takes, especially for food intolerances, and it's more than 7-8 minutes.)

If I have an appointment to meet someone, I will assume after 10 minutes that they have forgotten and leave. They won't be late the next time.....if there is a 'next time'.       :)

I heard something one time that I've never forgotten and try to live by. "If you are late, you are in fact, stealing someone else's time".

I reckon the time spent in a queue or just waiting would depend on the importance of the wait..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

I was not willing to wait 45 minutes at The Olive Garden for a table last night. I buy theatre tickets with seat selection when there's down time - no show starting w/n 30 minutes, so no one in line. I avoid waiting and do my best to be early to meet a friend. 

I think the longest I've waited is overnight, 15 hours, for a rerouted flight. Airline supplied a hotel room, food vouchers.
