Yes, I send cards, and include a letter, often with photos, too. Some years I have prepared poem that summarizes the year's events, and sometimes I've painted a small canvas, taken a photo of it, and had the photo made into cards.

jhharlan makes beautiful cards, a pleasure to receive, $2 or not. If you haven't exchanged addresses, now would be the time.

I no longer send local cards and only a few to those friends out of town, always with a note. There are some phone calls exchanged to the "out of towners" because I started doing that a few years ago and received a very appreciative response. Makes both of us happy!    :)

yes, sometimes I write things in card for birthdays and Christmas.
