I might be the wrong one to answer this Clonge,as our mum dropped me and 2 younger siblings off at a picture show and said,"i'll be back",unlike Arnie that did not happen,and i was younger than the guys in your story,however whenever one of these kid stories comes out the adults of the world get their goody two shoes on and hang the parents..but you never hear of a newspaper interviewing one of the kids to ask what they think..and believe me i was a kid of 7,and i had an opinion...*%#%#@**..but nobody wanted to know,as for the kid and the gun,who cares i was blowing away Crows and Cockatoos and Galahs at the age of 13..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

I guess she didn't want kids. She'd rather be gallivanting around the continent. It reminds me of a song  from West Side Story that goes.........." they didn't wanna have me, but somehow I was had ........''

Though my mom never took off for days and days, she would also leave us in yhe care of my oldest sister. She was mean and bossy. There were seven of us and it was Jenny’s turn to do breakfast dishes. She almost had them done when MJ stuck her finger in the water and said it wasn’t hot enough and Jenny had to do them all over again. After MJ came jennys turn to boss us around. YeeGads. I was next to youngest and easily intimidated.....
