What is happening to my tomatoes?
Right when the tomato is beginning to ripen but too early to pick, something is taking what looks like a toothy bite out of the top of said fruit. Just one bite out of each one. None of the cherry toms are damaged. What gives?

But only one bite? Why not the whole tomato? It's just on top, a coon would come from the bottom. A bird pecks.....
Will do but still doesn't make sense. The bite marks are only on top of the fruit. One bite mark on each. It can be cut off and the tomato eaten. A bug would do more damage. A raccoon would eat from the bottom. Oh, I said that all ready. I'll look it up on my tablet.....
To me it sounds like a tomato worm, But a turkey or chicken will take a bite of tomato and go down the row tasting each one! You might try Sevin dust if it is an insect if you don't mind pesticides!

You saying I need moth balls? They're supposed to be a good deterrent for skunks and raccoons...
