If you have Blue tooth in your car, and have a smart phone, you can program it to your phone and it will become "hands free". Your car most likely will have the phone controls on the steering wheel. Think of Blue tooth systems as being wireless vs connected by wires.

If you have it in your car and your phone,you can pair the computer in your car to your phone,so all your saved phone numbers from your phone are in you car computer,you can receive and make phone calls via your radio..as Flip said,it connects computers to printers,phones to phones,cars to phones without using a wire connection..>>>>>>>><<<<<<..http://www.explainthatstuff.com/howbluetoothworks.html

I don't get it, either, or why I would want it, but it sounds like it connects a phone and a laptop, for example. It facilitates a wireless transfer of info.
